What is Fascia:
Fascia is the board your gutters is attached to. A fascia board holds the gutters in place and prevents moisture from entering the roof and causing damage.
Fascia often fails when gutters are not maintained regularly. Not only is regularly cleaning your gutter important, but so is maintaining the seals of the miter joints and end caps. Leaky seals will cause the fascia to rot. Signs of leaky seals is peeling paint on the fascia and rotted wood.
Winter weight in your gutters will also pull your fascia away from the truss tails, thus allowing water to enter into your soffit cavity and then into your home.
Types of fascia
Cedar wood fascia is a species that resists rot and moisture very well, even when unpainted.
We replace cedar wood fascia in a min of 4’ sections at $28-35 per linear foot depending on how many linear feet you are replacing. Larger projects get better pricing.
Pine wood fascia is a very common fascia that has to be primed and painted or covered with fascia wrap.
We replace primed pine wood fascia in a min of 4’ sections at $18-$24 per linear foot, depending on how many linear feet you are replacing. Larger projects get better pricing.
A PVC fascia board is constructed to look like wood, even though it’s made from the same material as plumbing pipes. It has a clear advantage over wood when it comes to rot resistance.
We replace PVC fascia in a min of 4’ sections at $22-$30 per linear foot, depending on how many linear feet you are replacing. Larger projects get better pricing.
OSB (Oriented Standard Board)
OSB (Oriented Standard Board) fascia is a type of engineered wood similar to particle board, formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations. Building with OSB is the equivalent of building with structural cardboard; strong and cheap if done properly and weathered in well, and immediately junk if it’s done poorly and weathered in ineffectively. If this product is not maintained, it turns to a sponge. We do not offer this material.
Vinyl and Aluminum Fascia Wrap
A fascia wrap is simply wrapping metal around your existing fascia board and gables. When installed along with new rain gutters it provides an exact color and material match. There are many advantages to having your wood Fascia boards wrapped in aluminum, copper, or steel, adding an attractive appeal while protecting your home at the same time.
-The metal fascia wrap protects your wood from the effects of the UVrays
-Provides a barrier from the wind-driven rain
-Requires no painting
-Helps to minimize some areas that insects can normally penetrate the wood
-Provides an exact color match when installed together with new seamless gutters.
We in a min of 4’ sections at $4-$8 per linear foot, depending on how many linear feet you are replacing. Larger projects get better pricing.
